Green Bay Packers fans got the news they’ve been patiently waiting for on Monday.
The NFL announced that Green Bay’s game against the Detroit Lions in Week 18 has been flexed to Sunday night.

It’s actually a bit of a surprise that the NFL moved this game to Sunday night. It’s obviously a huge game, but moving it to Sunday night could possibly take some of the drama away from this matchup.
That’s because if the Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams earlier in the day, the Lions will be eliminated from playoff contention.
If the Seahawks lose to the Rams, then the game between Green Bay and Detroit will be for the final playoff spot. But if the Seahawks beat the Rams and the Packers lose to the Lions, it will mean that Seattle gets the final spot.
There will still be drama — the Packers will need to win to get in regardless of what happens with Seattle and Los Angeles.
But there’s a scenario where the Lions are playing spoiler instead of playing for a playoff spot.
